TEHRAN - Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani has said that the United States should not point finger at others while meddling in certain crisis-hit Arab countries.
Larijani made the remarks in Tehran on Sunday in response to the statement issued by Obama on Sunday, in which he claimed that Damascus is seeking assistance from Iran to quell Syrian protesters.Larijani said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is only seeking to help the peoples, who want a change in their governments, to realize their legitimate demands.
The people only want to have a role in shaping their destiny, but the world’s major powers do not want this, he said.
The hegemonistic powers also made efforts to keep former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak in power but could not achieve their goal, Larijani stated.
He also said that the Egyptian revolution is “evolutionary”, and there is much hope that the Egyptian people would achieve their rights.
Larijani went on to say that Iran disapproves of military intervention in other countries and violent suppression of the people.
He also called on the people of regional countries to remain vigilant about the enemies’ plots
